Tipping Back

I’m tipping backwards with this attempt to go blue. Laying color onto the page worked(ish), and I enjoyed the struggle enough to project that enjoyment onto a problematic drawing. It’s interesting, maybe even more interesting than if it was more mememic as a finished drawing… but it didn’t land quite right. I’d like to see a the three horizontal plans differentiated and played up. I’d like to see the throat tightened up, and the shadows across the lower belly and top of the hips flow cleaner. Need to build up in layers of ink, watercolor, pencil, pastels, and pigment. Keep taking the risk and make this vision work.
